Hi there, I'm Anna Galvan This is my third year teaching (not counting long-term subbing) and my third year in 1st grade. I love 1st grade so much! They come in as little kiddos, so eager and ready to learn and they leave you as acual readers and writers. The transformation is a wonderful thing to witness!
Why Do I Teach?
Whenever I have to answer this question I never know exactly what to say. To be honest I don't know why I teach... I just know that I have to. I'm the classic case - I always played teacher as a kid, loved all my teachers in school, and was always a great student. It was the only career choice I ever considered.
Now that I am a teacher, I realize that it isn't just my job, or even my career, but my true passion and calling. Even on the hard days I still feel that this is what I am meant to do. On a few really bad days I have tried to explore other career options, but nothing else seems to make sense. For better or worse, richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, I AM a teacher!
